Harbin - Ice & Snow Festival

Jan 21 (Sat)      USA – Hong Kong
We start our vacation by boarding an international flight to Hong Kong, the oriental pearl of Asia. Meals and snacks will be provided on board.

Jan 22 (Sun)     Arrive in Hong Kong
Arrive at Hong Kong Int’l airport. Upon arrival, we will be escorted to the hotel.

Jan 23 (Mon)     Hong Kong (AB)
Today is the first day of Chinese New Year, “Kung Hee Fatt Choy”. After breakfast, we leave for sightseeing trip of Hong Kong. The city tour will take us to Victoria Peak, Aberdeen fishing village, Stanley Market and Repulse Bay. This evening, join the local crowd and celebrate one of the most well known and biggest events of the year. The Chinese Lunar New Year Celebration! We will have reserved seats for this special night, experience the fun by watching the International New Year Parade “The World’s Happiest Party”, which comprises of colorful floats, dragon dancers, celebrities and performers from all over the world.

Jan 24 (Tue)     Hong Kong                         (AB)
Free at leisure during day time or take optional day excursion to Macau. The celebration continues tonight with a magnificent lunar New Year Fireworks Show over the Victoria Harbor. We will walk to the harbor water front and watch this beautiful fireworks shooting from the top of the skyscrapers. This fireworks display is an annual event in Hong Kong since 1982, to celebrate its 150 anniversary, since then, it became a Chinese New Year greeting to the citizens.

Jan 25 (Wed)     Hong Kong – Guangzhou       (AB, SL)
After breakfast, we will go to Sha Tin Racecourse and enjoy the Traditional Chinese New Year Horse Racing. Private box is reserved for our group. This is a legal gambling entertainment and one of the most popular sports in Hong Kong. Enjoy this exciting race and try your luck in the New Year event. Premium buffet lunch with unlimited serving of wine and spirit will be provided in the private box. Along with extensive balconies offering unparallel views of the racetrack, all this is to make our experience a comfortable and a pleasant one. In the evening, we will transfer to Guangzhou.

Jan 26 (Thu)     Guangzhou                         (AB)
Free at leisure today. Guangzhou is the capital of Guangdong Province in southern China and has a population of over 10 million, making it the third largest city in mainland China after Shanghai and Beijing. In between the seemingly endless skyscrapers, shopping malls and building sites there is a lot of culture and history.

Jan 27 (Fri)      Guangzhou – Harbin             (AB, L, D)
After breakfast, transfer to Guangzhou airport and fly to Harbin, the city of the Ice and Snow Festival. Upon arrival, we will get our winter kit before go on the tour. And we take a city tour through the main streets of Harbin, and visit St. Sophia Church, which was built and completed of timber in March, 1907 as part of a plan to reconsolidate the confidence of the army by building an imposing spiritual symbol. In the evening, visit Zhao Lin Park where you will see the ice sculptures and ice lanterns. Tonight enjoy a delicious dinner.

Jan 28 (Sat)      Harbin                              (AB, L, SD)
Today, we will tour Sun Island, the site of an international snow carving competition which held every January. After viewing the amazing sculptures, we will go to Northeast Tiger Park and see the recently listed endangered tiger of China. In the afternoon, we will go to Harbin Ice and Snow Festival to enjoy the magnificent and gigantic ice sculptures. Then enjoy a delicious Russian dinner.

Jan 29 (Sun)     Harbin – Beijing                  (AB, L)
In the morning, we will go to the Songhua River and witness people swimming in subzero temperature. After that, transfer to airport and fly to Beijing. Upon arrival, we will visit Silk Factory where we learned how silk fabric was made. It takes years for the silk worms to mature to create the cocoon that will become fabric. Silk is a natural protein fiber that can be woven into textiles. The finish products are the beautiful fabrics and bedding. Although malls and shopping centers are becoming more popular, some Beijing residents still shop in markets. Whether indoors or out, these markets are inexpensive, chaotic, and, for the visitor, tremendously interesting. Therefore, a Silk Alley Market is arranged.

Jan 30 (Mon)     Beijing                                   (AB, L)
In the morning, we will visit the fabled Great Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a massive defensive structure built to keep off intrusion. On the way, we will visit the jade museum, where we will learn about Chinese jade culture.

Jan 31 (Tue)     Beijing – Hometown               (AB)
Transfer to Beijing Capital Int’l airport for our return flight home; ending our fantastic tour to Harbin Ice and Snow Festival and Chinese New Year Celebration.
