Zhangjiagie is located in western Hunan Province, and is famous for its spectacular scenery. The new cableway on Mt. Tianzi provides visitors with panoramic views of spectacular landscapes. The main scenic attractions of the Mountain are the Imperial Peak, West Sea, Tainzi Pavilion, Shentang Bend, Immortal Bridge, and the General Cliff and Heavenly Soldiers Gathering.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is one of China's first national parks. Mysterious mountains covered with dense, primeval forests contain 23 species of rare animals and more than 3,000 species of plants, some of which are used for medicinal purposes in Chinese medicine. The forest is famous for its unique natural sandstone formations, which jut out from the lush virgin forest beneath the formations. The formations resemble gigantic stalagmites. Intermittent streams weave between canyons and gorges in the Park.

Located at an elevation of 1300 meters above sea level, the Huangshi Fort sits strategically perched to guard the Zhangjiajie Forest.

Yellow Dragon Cave is an immense cavern of 1 reservoir, 2 rivers, 3 lakes, 4 pools, 13 halls, and 46 corridors of countless stalagmites, stele, and rock formations, which appear to drape like curtains. There are rock formations, which look like flowers, and rocks, which appear to cascade. The most spectacular stalactite is Sea-calming Needle, which is 19.2 meters tall, 10 centimeters in diameter, and translucent. It reaches to the very top of the cavern.

Precious Peak Lake is 2 kilometers south of the town of Suoxi. It lies in a deep and serene valley and emerald mountains. The waters of the crystal clear lake mirror the surrounding peaks and forest.
