      Lijiang is a renowned historical and cultural city in China. The city is well known for its breathtaking vistas of snow capped mountains and ancient rustic pastures. Lijiang is home to the Naxi ethnic minority people. 

      Jade Dragon (Yulong Snow Mountain) is one of the most picturesque areas in China. Towering snow clad peaks reach for the sky amidst lush green pastures. The area is one of the most pristine areas in all of China. The mountain rises to a height of 5,600 meters. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is home to half of Yunnan's 400 kinds of trees, 13,000 plant species, dozens of flowering plants, and one-third of China's known species of medicinal herbs and plants. The many ravines, creeks, cliffs and meadows have been a source of many of the Naxi people's myths, legends, and folklore which span a thousand years. The mountain is most famous for the Spring season when the camellias, rhododendrons, and azaleas burst into bloom creating a natural carpet of dazzling hues of orange, bright yellow and scarlet.

      Tiger Leaping Gorge features surrounding cliffs which rise 3,000 meters above the Golden Sand River. The mighty Yangtze River (known at this juncture as the Jinsha River) surges between the Haba Mountains and the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and through one of the deepest gorges in the world.
